The 5th RUDOLF NUREYEV INTERNATIONAL BALLET COMPETITION (RNIBC) is organized by the EuroDance Foundation under the
auspices of the International Dance Council, CID - UNESCO in Budapest, March 4-10, 2008.
The Competition will be held in honour of RUDOLF NUREYEV, one of the greatest ballet dancers of
the 20th century, in order to promote the artistic development of the young dancers of
today and tomorrow by challenging them to perform passages selected from classical productions
(including Nureyev's versions).
The three-round Competition will be judged by a jury of international experts.
SCHEDULE
Candidates have to arrive in Budapest not later than 12am on March 3. 2008. All participants - whether competing or non-competing partner - has to check at the registration desk where general information about the program will be provided.
OPENING & drawing of numbers: March 3. 2008, 4pm
FIRST ROUND: March 4. and 5. 2008
SECOND ROUND: March 6 and 7. 2008
THIRD (Final) ROUND: March 8. 2008
PRIZE GIVING GALA: March 10. 2008
The Gala Performance will be held after the Prizes Presentation. The Programm will be decided by the Management.
Following the Prize Giving Gala we plan two gala concerts on March 11. and 12. 2008. The laureates of the Ballet Competition and some of the finalists, selected by the Management of the Competition, have to perform at these gala concerts. On the days of these concerts the participants will be paid an extra fee, hotel accommodation.
Attention: In order to ensure smooth participation the dancers are kindly requested to have a double-entry visa for Hungary, where necessary, three passport-size photos and flexible dates on their return tickets.
JUDGING AND PRIZES
The competitors will be judged individually according to their performance in the variations and/or pdd. The decisions of the
jury are final and cannot be appealed.

Trophy and Diploma

First Prize and Diploma
USD 5.000
Second Prize and Diploma
USD 3.000
Third Prize and Diploma
USD 2.000
Special Prizes to the best young male and female dancer (born in or after 1990): Diploma and a Three Month Scholarship at the Hungarian Dance Academy.
There will be other Special Prizes Diploma for all Finalists
